Note
White horsehair bench wig, with a curl detached from one of the two queues. Two worn labels sewn inside wig read 'Patentee / Ravenscroft / 1 Star Yard / Lincolns Inn Fields' and 'Mr Justice Kelly'. The tin is made of metal, painted black with gold painted rosette around latch and gold painted lettering on the outside that reads, 'Mr Justice Kelly'. Lettering inside tin lid reads, 'Ravenscroft / Law / Wig & robe makers / 93/4 Chancery Lane / London'. The wig was manufactured prior to 1902 as Ravenscroft became Ede & Ravenscroft in 1902.
The known previous owner of the wig is the Honourable Jack Kelly CBE RFD QC, judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland (1973-1990).
