Original seal press plate used by Supreme Court Registry to emboss the seal to officiate documents issued by the Court, such as grants of probate, admission certificates and grants of notaries public. The plate was replaced on 1 July 1987, probably due to wear. The square plate is brass with bronze circular seal inlaid. The circular seal appears to be partially joined to the plate with silver(?) around circumference. The die legend reads 'THE SEAL OF THE SUPREME COURT OF QUEENSLAND', with design of the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom in centre, both in bas relief.
Note
Donated by the Supreme and District Court Registries, Queensland Courts on 30 July 2018. The seal matrix has been in possession of Supreme and District Court registries since decommissioned.
